35th Annual MAATA Meeting & Symposium Registration


Event Information:
The 35th Annual MAATA Meeting and Symposium will be held March 27-29, 2014, at the Sheraton Hotel in West Des Moines, Iowa.

The total number of CEUs for the three days is 15 CEUs. Additional CEUs will be available for those attending the pre-conference workshop.

The NATA is offering a Pre-Conference Workshop, “Maximizing Injury Rehabilitation Motivation” for Certified attendees 12:30pm-5:00pm on Thursday March 27th. NATA Pre-Conference Information Sheet

The ACES Preparatory Workshop for Taking the BOC Exam pre-conference workshop for students will be offered again this year. It begins the morning of Thursday, March 27th and concludes 9:00am-1:00pm on Friday.

This year’s educational sessions will start on Thursday evening and are scheduled 6:00-9:00pm. The registration desk will be open Thursday evening 5:00pm-8:00pm. There is a Student Reception Thursday 9:00pm-11:00pm at the hotel and a Welcome Reception for Attendees at The Tavern II beginning at 9:00pm Thursday. Friday’s sessions start at 8:00am and will continue until 5:00pm. On Friday, the Exhibit Hall will be open to Certified Members from 7:30-9:00am and will include a continental breakfast. The hall is open to all attendees from 9:00am-2:00pm. Friday evening features the State meetings, the Hall of Fame and Awards Dinner, the Quiz Bowl, and the President’s reception. Saturday’s general sessions are scheduled 8:00am-12:00pm. The Student Oral Presentations will be on Saturday morning as well.

The meeting and symposium concludes after the MAATA Business Meeting which is scheduled to begin at noon on Saturday. Some of the topics for this year’s Symposium include: a Learning Block on Rehabilitation of the Upper Extremity and general sessions on Drug Interactions, The Globalization of Athletic Training, Dermatological Issues in Athletics, Liability & Risk Management, Emergency Procedures and many more. Members of the CAATE will conduct a CAATE Update and Open Forum, as well as a three-hour workshop on program assessment.
